Let’s have a real conversation.
Let’s have a real conversation.
(Sometimes the room is a parking lot at 8 AM.)
Writer. Connection architect. Forbes 30 Under 30.
Currently building The Board Walks, a free weekly village in 17+ cities.
In July 2022, I stood in a parking lot in Austin with eight people and a hundred degrees of Texas heat, and exactly zero evidence that anything was going to work.
We walked. We talked. We put our phones away.
And we said, “Wow, I really needed that. Same time next week?”
That morning, The Board Walks was born.
Four years later, that same thing happens every Saturday in 17+ cities, for over 20,000 people, and it is still free, and it will always be free, because a hyper-effective solution to modern loneliness should not live behind a paywall.
That is the short version of what I do.
The long version is that I am obsessed with a very specific question:
What would it take for you to stop editing yourself?
Not in a big, dramatic way. I mean the small edits. The ones you make so fast you don't notice. The "I'm good, how are you" when you are not good. The story you tell at parties because it lands, instead of the one you're actually living. The version of you that shows up to brunch already smoothed over.
I think most people are lonely not because nobody is around, but because nobody has met them yet.
So I build places where meeting you is the whole point.
The walks are one.
The Board is another.
Everything else I make is just me thinking out loud about how any of this works.
Nobody hands you a map to a person's work, so here's mine.
Open the door that sparks your curiosity.
My inner world, unedited, in your inbox on Wednesday mornings. Long-form, occasionally weepy, always specific. This is the one where I tell you the truth about what I'm moving through while I'm still moving through it.
The front door. Five miles, no phones, one honest question, every Saturday morning in 17+ cities. Bring something you've actually been thinking about and throw it on the trail to see what comes back. Free forever.
What happened out there. One email every Friday with the stories from all our cities: the co-founder who got clarity at mile three, the woman who orbited us for two years before she finally showed up, the question that reframed a decade.
The deeper room. A curated global network for people who've built a full life and are quietly done being the most self-aware person in every space they walk into.
The show. Cam and I think out loud about consciousness, connection, and the deeply strange experience of being a person. Conversations that refused to stay on the trail.
Four years of Saturdays taught me one thesis and everything above is built on it:
Real connection is a habit worth building your week around.
The Debrief is the best way to stay connected. Plus, it’s fabulous.
